Cold Market Prospecting using Family, Occupation, Recreation and Message
Have you ever heard of FORM for cold market prospecting? There is no limit as to the ways you can use it. FORM works for:
- Phone calls
- Emails
- Social Media Networking
- Strangers at the Store
- and much more!
As an effective means to approach your cold market, F.O.R.M. is pretty easy. You can also teach others on your team to do it too for duplication down the line.
Do you ever find yourself blabbing on and on about YOU when you meet people? That definitely needs to stop! Be interested in the prospect instead.
Here’s the best practices for using the FORM method:
Family:
I usually like to open up an in-person conversation by complimenting the person. Then, asking simple questions is an easy way to break the ice with someone you just met. People like to talk about themselves and especially if the topic is things they are comfortable with like: Where are you from? How many kids do you have? Do you live around here? You get the idea!
Occupation:
It’s very common for people to ask: What do you do for work? Depending on the answer, you can figure out their situation pretty easily. It’s also an opportunity for you to say what you do. But again, don’t blab on and on. Just do your 30-second speech and leave it at that. Don’t be talking about your products or opportunity.
Recreation:
People reveal a lot about themselves by the things they enjoy doing. You’ll learn alot about how much extra income they have now or if they even get to do anything fun. Do they go on vacation? Movies?
Message:
Now it’s time for your message. And by the way, your conversation should only take five minutes or so. Think about what you heard from the person while cold marketing prospecting. You can use what you heard to figure out if this person is happy, lacking things in their life and so on.
Let them know that you have a way for them to improve some aspect of their life. Get their contact information and make an appointment. Then be in a rush!
Using this training is one way to approach your cold marketing for prospecting purposes.
